Bottling line

Bottling Line Sourcing is an independent sourcing partner for bottle packaging lines that start at empty-container infeed and end at packed-case delivery. We help plant buyers collect comparable factory quotations. We do not claim upstream beverage processing, factory ownership or authorized-brand status. Share drawings, duty, quantity and destination to request factory quotes.

Request Factory Quotes

Documents before quotation

  • Drawing or process description

Mark first and last operations on a layout: empty-bottle handling, rinse-fill-close block, labeling, inspection and case packing. A published microblock bottle rate is a module reference, not packed-line throughput. Send bottle drawings, closure types, label formats and pack counts that must actually move.

  • Operating conditions

State fill volume, carbonation or still product, viscosity where relevant, three-phase supply, compressed air demand, cooling water if used, and washdown method. Name duty cycle by shift and how often formats change. Missing utilities force suppliers to hide site work in later extras.

If drawings or representative bottles are not ready, say so. Comparable quotes then rest on stated assumptions rather than silent defaults. See how to specify empty-container arrival through packed exit.

Documents before quotation

Use this band to freeze what bidders must price. Empty-bottle handling and packed-case delivery are in-scope only when the layout names them. Supplier and buyer responsibilities stay split: the buyer owns product, bottles and destination; the equipment supplier confirms feasibility for the named duty; this desk coordinates quote comparison, not plant operation.

  • Drawing or process description

Attach bottle height, diameter, neck finish and closure diameter. Identify retained conveyors, existing PLC interface and who designs accumulation. List changeover families before asking for tooling prices. Without those files, filler, capper and case packer offers cannot be aligned on the same route.

  • Operating conditions

Quote output as bottles per hour at a stated fill volume and reject definition, not only nominal turret speed. Record connected load, supply frequency and footprint limits of the room. FAT and SAT criteria belong in the same package so trial bottles match the later plant samples.

Incomplete documents delay matching. We still accept an RFQ, but we will flag which assumptions each factory must confirm before you treat prices as comparable.

Duty and operating envelope for a bottling line

Material entering the machine
What arrives: dirty or rinsed empties, glass or PET, returnable or one-way. What leaves: labeled bottles in cases or trays. Honey, beer and still wine do not share the same fill temperature or foam behavior, so do not copy one duty onto another SKU family.
Required output
Ask for throughput against the slowest confirmed format, including inspection rejects. Cycle time across transfers matters more than a single turret rating. State whether output is counted at the filler, at the labeller or as packed good bottles.
Duty cycle
Single-shift craft rooms and three-shift plants need different accumulation, spare parts and washdown access. Seasonal SKUs change how often changeover tooling is used and who stores it.

Resolve procurement unknowns before you compare totals

Which procurement scope is covered by a bottling line request?
Known input
You can name bottle drawings, closures, labels, pack counts, destination and the first/last machine you want priced. You can also name retained equipment that must stay.
Supplier confirmation
Each factory must confirm which operations it will design, whether conveyors and restart signals are included, and how packed good bottles will be counted during a complete line trial.
Where do empty-bottle handling and packed-case delivery fall in scope?

They fall in scope only when the layout and the commercial list name them. If depalletizing, rinsing, inspection or case packing sit with another vendor, write the handshake: bottle pitch, accumulation, interlock and who restarts after a stop. Otherwise a stoppage between two suppliers remains undefined. Read acceptance around format transitions before you freeze trial language.
